- Dec 25
Another long duration balloon-borne CMB experiment,
TopHat,
is going to be launched. The flight is expected to last
2 weeks! I just remember what I wrote two years ago:
December 29, 1998 --
the window has been open.
TopHat will observe 5 bands from 150 through 630 GHz (cf. 4 bands from 90-400 GHz for BOOMERanG).
An expected sky-coverage is ~1800 deg2 (cf. ~1200 deg2), and the best angular resolution is 20 arcminutes (cf. 10 arcminutes).
Animated TopHat can be seen here (made by NASA).
- Dec 22-Jan 5, 2001
I go back to Japan. Let's jump into 21st century!
Some detailed schedules:
- 12/23-12/29 Fukushima (27-29: visit Tohoku Univ.)
- 12/30-1/5 Takarazuka@Hyogo
