The greatest long-duration balloon-borne CMB experiment, BOOMERanG,
was launched !! It may open the door into precise CMB measurements. Animated
BOOMERanG can be seen here
(made by Caltech-team).

Dec 8
My second paper has been accepted for a publication
in Physical Review D !! The paper will appear at the issue of 15 March, 1999.
-
Nov 16
I present a small talk (in Japanese) for "Kenkyuu-ka seminar" at Tohoku
University. Abstract is here.
-
Nov 1
3K meeting '98. The
meeting of our CMB project is held at Tohoku University. This
is the first step towards Japanese CMB experiment project !! The
program is here
(in Japanese).

Oct 15
Erratum for my published paper (Phys. Rev. D58,
023004 (1998)) will appear at the issue of 15 Oct, Physical Review D. It
corrects the crucial misunderstandings in our paper. If you are interested
in the physical backgrounds or implications of corrections, you can feel
free to ask me.

Our results of observations of SZ effect due to RXJ1347-1145 will be
presented at the Annual Meeting
of Astronomy in Japan. My speech (in Japanese) is scheduled at the
session from 13:00. Abstract of my speech is here.

July 13
The preliminary results of our observations of Sunyaev-Zel'dovich (SZ)
effect due to the most luminous cluster of galaxies 'RXJ1347-1145 (image
is here)' is presented
at the international conference 'COSPAR
98 (E1.1:
Suto,
Y.)'. This work is the first measurement of SZ toward RXJ1347 at multi-frequenies
(21, 43, 150, and 350GHz). Especially, the detection of SZ 'increment'
at 350GHz is so important, because no one has detected any significant
and reliable signals of such an increment yet. Our observation at 350GHz
might achieve the first convincing detection of SZ increment and the first
SZ sub-millimetre band imaging.

"Physical Review D" has been switched from a citation scheme based
on volume and page to a scheme based on volume and six-digit article number.
This new citation scheme will be used from 1 July. The details appear in
this URL.

Planck team has decided to adopt the solution FIRST and Planck are
launched together but separate shortly after launch and proceed to different
orbits. This solution is called "Carrier".
Target launch year will be 2007 !! (From Planck

of 15 July.
I present a talk (in Japanese) for "Dan-wa-kai" at Tohoku University.
Abstract is here.
