The six particle types

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a discussion of the 6 different particle types
and how they vary. I have scanned both code papers and read the user
guide and all I can gather is that they are all treated by gravity (and
can be treated with different smoothing) and the "gas" type has a
hydrodynmaic SPH acceleration applied to it.

Any further insight would be appreciated.
