Difference between restart files and snapsots

Hi!

I'm not very familiar with Gadget2, but I'm using it for several months and
I have a question: why someone uses restart files instead of restarting from
snapshot? Is there any pros for using restarts?

As I noticed, with restart files you can't change the number of cores used
(it should be the same before and after restart), you can't adjust any
parameters, but you can easily do it with restarting from snapshot (like
changing TreeAllocFactor if it's not enough to make the next step).

So, is there any particular reason to use restarts?

Thanks a lot in advance!
