Itanium 2

Dear people,

I need to compile Gadget2 in a Altix 450 machine (Itanium 2 processors).
Tried some combinations of flags and options without success... neither with
GCC nor with the Intel C (icc) compiler. I have read a thread on the list
(Bug and solution for ALTIX 400 series...) but it didn't work for me.
