I am an Astronomer working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Max-Planck-Institute for Astrophysics (MPA) in Garching/Munich, Germany, in the group of Simon White.
My main research interest is our beautiful Milky Way galaxy and all the processes that have shaped its appearance.

Luckily, the awesome Gaia satellite, which measures positions and velocities for billions (!!!) of stars in our Galaxy, will soon allow us to answer many of these questions and understand how the Milky Way was formed. (Spoilers: Tintoretto was probably wrong...)

Before moving to Garching/Munich, I did my PhD at the Max-Planck-Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) in Heidelberg with Hans-Walter Rix (MPIA) and Jo Bovy (University of Toronto).
