My research focuses on the formation and evolution of massive galaxies, but I have a broad range of
interests and have delved into gravitational lensing, gas outflows, dynamics, large surveys and dark matter models.
I mostly use data from interferometers like ALMA, LOFAR, e-MERLIN, VLBA and EVN.
Below are links to my CV and publications if you want to know more.
I am currently a postdoc at Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching, Germany.
I received my PhD in 2020 from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands under the
supervision of John McKean and Leon Koopmans. I also
worked at the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON). My thesis was about
gravitationally lensed quasars at sub-mm/mm/radio wavelengths, which you can find
here (see if you
can spot the error in Equation 1!).
Before my PhD I lived in Manchester, UK. I got my Master's and Bachelor's degrees from the University of Manchester.
I am currently co-chair of the committee of Junior Members of the International Astronomical Union. You can find us on Twitter and see our previous talks on YouTube. While I was in Groningen, I founded Astronomy on Tap Groningen, an outreach event that allows local astronomers to share their research with the public: you can find it on Twitter.
