Galactic and extragalactic Faraday rotation

Here you can find the results of the two papers Oppermann et al. (2012) on Galactic Faraday rotation and Oppermann et al. (2014) on Galactic and extragalactic Faraday rotation. The treatment of the Galactic foreground differs slightly with respect to the assumptions made, most notably the inclusion of an error variance correction factor for all data points in the 2012 paper and only for a subset of the data points in the 2014 paper. See the 2014 paper for the detailed differences. In general, we recommend the use of the newer results for both Galactic and extragalactic studies, unless a specific assumption made in the 2014 paper is unwanted.
