Hydrodynamic Aspects of Galaxy Formation


The Sterrewacht Leiden invites all researchers to a TMR workshop on
hydrodynamic aspects of galaxy formation and evolution to be held 
at the Lorentz Center at the Universiteit Leiden from March 8 to 10 
1999.

The workshop is mainly intended for advanced graduate students and
young postdocs. A fair fraction of the workshop will be devoted to a
series of extended review talks by senior researchers on hydrodynamics
in general, certain aspects of its numerical implementation, and the
application to galaxy formation and evolution. After each talk there
will be ample time for discussions and comments. Furthermore, each
participant is encouraged to give an oral contribution (or to present
a poster) on own research.

This workshop intends to bring together specialists in various aspects
of hydrodynamics with graduate students and postdocs who use or plan
to use hydrodynamical techniques to address problems related with
galaxy formation and evolution. The main idea is to promote the
exchange of knowledge and experience with different numerical schemes
between scientist working on related fields.

fee is fl. 75 which accounts for the food expenses (lunch and coffee 
breaks). It should be payed -- together with the hotel costs (fl.95 for
