Issue with SELECTIVE_NO_GRAVITY

I am attempting to change particles that start as one type to another type
which has SELECTIVE_NO_GRAVITY enabled. When this occurs Gadget begins to
take timesteps on the order of 10^-14. Can anyone explain to me why this
is happening and if there is a way to fix it?
