I leave the
Astronomical Institute of Tohoku University,
and then go to the
Department of Astrophysical Sciences in Princeton
University as a visiting student research collaborator.

We are goint to perform observations of the SZ effect towards RXJ1347-1145
at Nobeyama Radio Observatory
.
We use NOBA (Nobeyama Bolometer Array) which has 7 elements and works at
2-mm (150 GHz). Our proposal can be seen
here
(in Japanese).

new paper
, "Submillimeter detection of the
Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect toward the most luminous X-ray cluster at z=0.45",
is accepted for publication in Astrophysical Journal Letters !!

The first Antarctic flight of
BOOMERanG
is over (see
here
!!). It has mapped a millimeter-wave sky for
250
hours since it was launched at Dec 29, 1998 at McMurdo station,
Antarctica.

Science Magazine (
Science,
283, 1 (1999)
) reported:
At the Texas Symposium in Paris,
Python
and
Viper
telescope
team (
Carnegie Melon University's
CMB project at south pole
) presented their detection of the first
Doppler peak at which is located if our universe is flat. Really ?!
Our Universe is FLAT ?! Their data and
CMB power spectrum of the flat Universe can be seen
here
(made
